Raw: New Era

Stephanie McMahon appeared via satellite to make a few announcements. First, Batista cannot have the rematch he wants because of the stipulation her brother made that whoever won the cage match would defend title against John Cena at Survivor Series. (Randy Orton later informed Batista it was his turn for the title next, to which Batista didn’t respond too well to...)

Stephanie also said long-standing feuds would be finalized Monday night, calling it “the dawning of a new era.” First, Kane and Rey Mysterio would end their rivalry with a no disqualifications match. Then, Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho would end their grudge in a last man standing match.

Is anyone else getting sick of the John Cena segments? Yeah, he’s pretty good and important to the show, but I don’t think even Hulk Hogan ever got this much love.

Raw Results (11/10):
Intercontinental Championship Match - Santino Marella v. William Regal, Regal pins Marella, Regal wins title
Rey Mysterio v. Kane, Mysterio pins Kane
Batista v. Cody Rhodes (Rhodes stepped in for Orton to prove a point to him), Batista pins Rhodes
Women’s Championship Match – Beth Phoenix v. Mickie James, Phoenix pins James, Phoenix retains title
Chirs Jericho v. Shawn Michaels, Michaels counted out (JBL did interfere)

Key WWE injuries/absences:
John Cena: herniated disc in neck, expected to return Nov. 23 at Survivor Series
Evan Bourne: dislocated ankle and torn deltoid ligament, return in up to 4 months
Edge: in Hell (rumored to be returning soon)
Mr. Kennedy: dislocated shoulder early August, return unknown
Melina: broken ankle, expected to return late November/early December

My only hope is that they will not cut any of these feuds short because they want to put the bigger superstars on top. We all know that Vince is in love with Batista and all his muscles, but he is not the greatest champion or even potential champion that they have on roster. They need to let Jericho remain champion for a good period of time. He is catching alot of heat from the fans which means that he is doing a great job as a heel. SmackDown needs to hurry up and crown Jeff as the new champion. Its always more interesting to see the Game in chase of the title and not the bearer of it.
