Velvet Sky done at TNA; WWE next?

One of the most popular women in wrestling said good bye to TNA Impact Wrestling on Thursday.

There have been rumors swirling about restructuring of contracts at TNA, but Velvet confirmed her release from the company on her Twitter account.

"I have been granted my release by TNA at this time. It's what's best for me right now and I wanted to thank TNA and all the fans for their constant support in me. Stay tuned though," she tweeted.

Let the speculation begin as to whether Velvet will show up in WWE. Mick Foley, for one, endorsed this idea on Twitter.

"I think @VelVelHoller would be a valuable addition to the @WWE Divas roster. Hope it happens," Foley said Thursday.

Velvet is a former tag team champion and Knockouts champion in TNA Impact. Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked her the No. 17 best singles wrestler among women in the industry in 2011.

In June 2012, she was featured in Montgomery Gentry's music video for their song "So Called Life."

Deleted scenes: Ziggler and Guerrero

The Trentonian got to talk with Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero about the upcoming 1,000th episode of Raw. However, not everything we got them to tell us fit in the article to be published in Monday's edition of the paper. Here are some things you won't see in that article:

Vickie praised Eddie Guerrero's mother for teaching her about being the wife of a wrestler before she was even married to him, and then helping her after she was married. She and Eddie dated for four years before getting married 1990. She said, "It takes a strong person" to be in a relationship with a professional wrestler.

"Not in a million years!" was her response when asked if she ever imagined on that wedding day that she would get involved herself and end up becoming one of the greatest managers in WWE history. When she and her daughters first got in involved as part of one of Eddie's storylines, she saw it as a fun, once in a lifetime thing. Then, after Eddie's death, she was asked back. "I was really happy," she said. "It was like a second family."

Vickie said she loves her job, but would also love to get Eddie's input on her performance.

She said Dolph is funny.

She said it means a lot more to her to see Dolph get to the point where a world title is in his reach than it was to see Eddie or Edge hold the title above their heads because she was standing alongside Dolph as he built his career.

Shaul isn't Vickie and Eddie's only daughter, but at this point, she is the only one going in the family business. Her younger daughter is a going into her senior year of high school and wants to study marine biology. Although Shaul was always the performer out of the two, Vickie said if her younger daughter does decide she wants to go into the wrestling business, she'll still have to complete college first.

Dolph was loving the time he spent on the mic last Monday, not only because he was working with one of his childhood favorites, but because it was his first chance to get on the mic in a while. He thinks he's only been on the mic three times this year.

His favorite Raw memory was in the article, but Dolph's least favorite didn't make the cut. Some of you may remember Dolph as a cheerleader (Nicky!) in the Spirit Squad. "There was a lot of sucky things that happened to us in that group," Ziggler said. The contents of port-a-potty being dumped on them, however? "Of course that was horrible."

(Note from Red Mask: If you do not remember that segment, don't search for it. I clearly remember vomiting after seeing it live.)

Who else will be at Raw 1000?

By now, everyone should know the advertised appearances for the 1,000th episode of Raw: Brock Lesnar, The Rock, Mick Foley and an opening brought to us by D-Generation X. With this three-hour Raw at PPV levels, there's got to be more people showing up, right?

Right.

Think mini-WrestleMania.

First of all, DX isn't just Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Road Dogg is now back with the company and should be showing up. That means it's possible other members of the stable (not Chyna) could show up, too.

Triple H's other segment for the night should also include Paul Heyman, since he is Lesnar's representative.

Rowdy Roddy Piper did reveal he would be at Raw via Twitter, calling the episode a "family reunion." He also tweeted:

To which Jim Ross responded:

I had heard about a month ago somewhere (possibly from his Twitter, but I cannot confirm it-- I know it was something legit) that Bret Hart would also be at the event. There are rumors Stone Cold Steve Austin will also be there, and possibly be the legend Heath Slater faces Monday night.

If Austin is there, does that mean his fellow Tough Enough trainers will be there, too? Well, Booker, of course, is on Smackdown, so I would assume he would be there. Trish Stratus is rumored, and although she is very busy, I wouldn't be surprised if she makes time to be there. If Bill DeMott was asked, he would probably be there, too.

Back to Heath Slater, it's also possible, but not likely, the legends he's faced over the past several weeks will also make appearances. I say not likely because those are usually one time deals. To recap, some of the guys he's faced include Doink the Clown, DDP, Vader, Bob Backlund, Sycho Sid, Rikishi and Road Warrior Animal.

I would be surprised if the usual suspects Mean Gene and Mae Young do not make some sort of appearance.

Last, but not least, while Shawn Michaels competed in the first Raw episode, he is not the only who is still sometimes around. The Undertaker could somehow materialize in the ring. (Maybe he'll even assist Kane in stopping AJ's wedding. If Kane cares. I don't know.)

Got a Price

Money is on everyone's mind tonight at WWE's Money in the Bank PPV. This actually has become a top PPV card-wise this year, and here's why:

- The MITB World Heavyweight Championship match has an odd mix of guys, and, in my opinion, guarantees either Dolph Ziggler or Tyson Kidd wins it. My only concern is Ziggler's health after his car accident Friday night. According to the WWE.com story, Ziggler was tossed as the limo he was leaving Comic Con in with Justin Roberts and Zack Ryder was rear-ended. He claimed to be okay and did not go to the hospital, but he has got to at the very least be sore going into a match that is brutal on your body. Don't be surprised if he is the one sitting in the corner throughout most of the match while the other guys (like Sin Cara) wow us with their talent. With eight guys in the match, it shouldn't be hard to "disappear" for a little bit.

- Meanwhile, the battle for the suitcase with a contract for a WWE Championship match has only four participants. All were required to be former champs. I think this may be the smallest group we've ever seen in a MITB match, and am skeptical it's going to stay that small. While I don't think Randy Orton's suspension is over yet, I think there's got to be someone, or some guys, who will enter the match, perhaps as a surprise to the other participants. Could Brock Lesnar be in the building tonight? Perhaps Rey Mysterio will make his return? Either way, I like Chris Jericho on this one. It just fits with whomever is champ when he decides to cash it in.

- AJ, AJ, AJ. I love crazy chicks, especially crazy chicks from Jersey. Who will she side with? Will she even be a factor in the result (besides, you know, counting to three)? Will she skip out of the arena alone? This storyline could have gotten stale long ago, but thanks to AJ, it hasn't. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan's reactions to AJ's antics have been great, also. I don't think this story has reached its climax, so I say CM Punk retains the belt. Bryan will win it at Summer Slam, and will push AJ aside shortly after holding the belt above his head.

Broski of the Week

With the likes of John Cena, CM Punk, Kane and Christian in the ring at The Great American Bash, it didn't seem likely Zack Ryder would win the Battle Royal to be GM next week.

But, he did. And, he did it eliminating Kane.

Sure, when it was just the two of them left, it seemed likely he would somehow win, but did anyone see it coming before then?

Ryder has been MIA lately on television, and he was even one of the guys introduced to the ring during the commercial break. It's almost like whoever gave Tyson Kidd his push last week was at the wheel again this week.

And, whoever this is, he is making the right decisions. We need young guys making an impact just as much as we want to see the veterans battle. The veterans need the young guys to keep themselves from getting stale. The more we get to love Ryder and Kidd now, the more likely we are to watch them in 10 years when they are the veterans.

Next week should be a fun week with Ryder in charge. There could be visits from his Z! True Long Island Story friends. There may even be a Cyber Monday, since Ryder is the Internet Champion.

No matter what, he certainly earned the title of Broski of the Week.
